Meet man behind Spidey, Hermey the Elf at Christmas Comic Con 3: FIRST-EVER APPEARANCE!

It is truly my honor to announce our very special guest of honor at Christmas Comic Con 3 (coming Sunday, Dec. 7th to Windsor, ON's St. Clair Centre for the Arts) – a man whose work continues to entertain today and will no doubt do so for generations to come – Mr. Paul Soles. Not only the voice behind the classic 1967-1970 animated Spider-Man (and Peter Parker!) but so much more, including the 1964 classic Rankin-Bass Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer special’s loveable Hermey the Elf (who wanted nothing more than to be a dentist). 

Now 84-years-young, the Toronto-born Mr. Soles is making his FIRST-EVER APPEARANCE at ANY comic con, and we couldn't be MORE THRILLED that he chose our Christmas Comic Con 3 to do so! 

With a career stretching back to 1960, Soles has voiced a number of other popular animated characters, including Rick Jones (Hulk, Captain America – 1966); Happy Hogan (Iron Man – 1966); Benny and Freddy (The Smoky Bear Show – 1969); Marcus (Rocket Robin Hood – 1966); in addition to appearing on-screen in the 2008 feature film, The Incredible Hulk, and, various TV series such as Alfred Hitchcock Presents; Kung Fu: The Legend Continues and Terminal City (winning the 2005 GEMINI Award for best performance by an actor in a featured supporting role, dramatic series). He also co-hosted the long-running CBC public affairs show Take 30 for 18 seasons.

It includes the complete first chapter of Super Space Boy Adventures, written and illustrated by James himself and is numbered for authenticity. Only 50 of this first-run were published - and only 20 sets of prints made! Thanks, James!

The Super Summer Comic Con Costume Contest will take place at 2 p.m. INSIDE THE CONVENTION HALL (specifically, St. Clair College's MAIN GYM) with MANDATORY REGISTRATION TO TAKE PLACE BETWEEN 11 A.M. and 1 P.M. Judges will be The Comic Book Syndicate's Mike Poirier and Christmas Comic Con 2 costume contest winner Dave "Iron Man" Kucharski - along with YOU, the audience! PLUS! 

This time out, we're going to divide our prizes into FOUR categories: Best in Show, Best Craftsmanship, Best Child Costume and Audience Choice. Thanks to our friends at Border City Comics for donating a number of gift certificates that we will give away to the various winners of our costume contest!
